While smoke ensures a safe temp, the meat you seek requires more precise instrumentation. For a perfectly cooked steak use a thermometer and pull it off the grill 145 and 160 degrees.

To complete your healthy dinner follow these three tips for grilling the meat and try this trick for a veggie side dish. Cut up carrots and broccoli, season lightly with olive oil, salt and pepper and place all the veggies in a pouch made out of tin foil. You can place the veggies on the grill in the pouch and let them steam while you are cooking the meat. When the steak is ready pull the veggies off with a pair of tongs, open the bag and you will have the perfect side dish.
